GSA Schedule: Unlocking Opportunities for Women-Owned Small Businesses

With over 12 million women-owned small businesses (WOSBs) in the United States, this demographic has experienced rapid growth and is having a significant impact on the small business community. However, despite the progress, WOSBs still face significant hurdles in accessing resources and opportunities. At GSA they are working to address these barriers and promote greater equality for women-owned small businesses. As a critical component of our economy, WOSBs play a vital role in government procurement. For more than two decades, the federal government has set a goal of awarding at least 5% of federal contracting dollars to WOSBs, with a focus on leveling the playing field in industries where WOSBs and economically disadvantaged WOSBs are underrepresented.

GSA is committed to unlocking the potential of small and small-disadvantaged businesses, empowering them to thrive in the federal procurement landscape. Its efforts focus on showcasing its capabilities, connecting entrepreneurs with federal procurement experts, and removing barriers to access federal procurement opportunities. It is dedicated to ensuring that women-owned small businesses (WOSBs) and economically disadvantaged WOSBs receive the equal opportunities they deserve in federal procurement, helping to drive economic growth and diversity across the nation.

GSA plays a pivotal role in supporting small businesses across the nation by providing federal agencies with access to critical products and services. It is dedicated to making it easier for businesses to work with them, recognizing the importance of flexibility and agility in today's fast-paced marketplace. To achieve this, it strives to simplify and streamline the processes, creating a seamless and efficient experience for customers.

For the 14th year in a row, GSA has earned an "A+" rating from the SBA on its FY2023 Small Business Procurement Scorecard, demonstrating its commitment to supporting small businesses and promoting their participation in federal contracting.
