GSA COVID-19 Contract Dashboard

The GSA continues to lead the way for all disasters facing the nation. The most recent example of this is that the GSA has already awarded over 37,000 contracts totaling $18.1B in federal sales in COVID-19 related contracts. These contracts range from personal protective equipment to loan processing, cloud computing to media buys, blood plasma to milk, as well as a seemingly endless array of other products and services.

If you would like to review upcoming contracts, view the dashboard link:

From a strategic level, the GSA has also been building buying guides/solutions for key products and services that agencies need in order to respond to COVID-19. These include enhanced screening, cleaning, telework and furniture products.

Four GSA Strategic Initiatives

Building Enhanced Screening Services – These protocols are being built by the GSA and will be adopted by state and local governments:

Cleaning and Disinfection – The GSA performed market research to enable federal, state and local agencies to quickly identify the pool of GSA contract vendors that are willing and capable of performing cleaning and disinfection services as highlighted by CDC:

Telework IT – Prior to COVID-19, the GSA had the capability of having 50% of its staff telework. Once COVID-19 hit, they were able to quickly transition to 100% of their workforce. They have led the way with solutions the agency was already using for itself.

Furniture Products and Services – The primary focus on furniture products are to provide screening and sanitation stations. This is becoming a new and large market within all governmental agencies.

• Hygiene Stations - Portable/Freestanding
• Hygiene Stations - Wall
• Mobile Marker Boards
• Screens – Portable/Freestanding
• Acrylic/Plexiglass Screens (Sneeze Guards)
• Social Distancing Signage (expanded sources added in July release)
• Temperature Check Stations
• Social Distancing Consulting Services
• Safety & Protection Furniture Innovations Coming to GSA MAS
• Creative Uses of Existing Furniture

Overall, we have seen a robust response from the GSA in dealing with COVID-19. The GSA and the GSA Schedule System are providing much needed continuity during the pandemic.

A GSA Schedule is a logical step when looking to take your business development potential in the federal marketplace to the next level. Whether you are already on GSA Schedule and/or are 8(a) certified and need help maximizing it, are exploring the possibility of either, or are thinking about coupling a GSA Schedule with the 8(a) Certification, these are all great ways to exacerbate your firm’s future earnings. If you would like to have an analysis run on your firm to see what type of impact a GSA Schedule (or 8(a) Certification) could provide your business, I always recommend contacting an industry expert such as Advance GSA or ez8a. Neither charge for an initial consultation.
